چکیده
Deracemization of racemic chiral compounds is an attractive approach in asymmetric synthesis, but its development has been hindered by energetic and kinetic challenges. Here we describe a catalytic deracemization method for secondary benzylic alcohols which are important synthetic intermediates end products many industries. Driven visible light only, this based on sequential photochemical dehydrogenation followed enantioselective thermal hydrogenation. The combination heterogeneous photocatalyst molecular hydrogenation catalyst essential to ensure two distinct pathways the forward reverse reactions. These reactions convert large number aryl alkyl into their enantiomerically enriched forms good yields enantioselectivities.

Given the fact that the theoretically possible number of racemates is larger than that of symmetric prochiral or meso compounds, the development of deracemization methods, which yield a single stereoisomer from a racemate is an important topic. Enantioconvergent processes are based on the transformation of a pair of enantiomers through opposite stereochemical pathways affecting retention and in...
متن کاملCatalytic enantioselective bromoamination of allylic alcohols.
An enantioselective bromoamination of allylic alcohols has been developed for the first time using a newly designed cinchona-derived thiourea as the catalyst and N,N-dibromo-4-nitrobenzenesulfonamide as a bromine and amine source.

A new dibromination reaction involving the combination of dibromomalonate as the bromonium source and a titanium bromide species as the bromide source has been developed. Enantioselective catalysis has been achieved through apparent ligand acceleration by a tartaric acid-derived diol.

The use of in situ generated (NHC)-Ni catalytic species (NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene) allows for the synthesis, in short reaction times, of a variety of tertiary alcohols from secondary alcohols through a domino oxidation-addition protocol.
